"To oppose her is to try in vain--Cross her once, then taste her pain!"
Why this derby name and number?
While I was contemplating my derby name, my sister in law suggested “Knuckle Sammich” as a pun on my real name. I wasn’t quite sold on it, so I mostly kept it to myself. When my fellow Dames nick-named me “Knuckles” out of the blue, I figured it was probably a sign from God, haha.
N7 is a reference to one of my favorite video games. If you know which one that means you’re just as much of a dork as I am.
What is your hometown?
How did you get into derby?
After the movie, Whip It, came out, my co-workers and I were in agreement that roller derby seemed like it’d be amazing fun. Unfortunately we had no idea how to go about pursuing that pipe dream, so it became merely passing conversation. A year later, someone posted a flyer for the DuPage Derby Dames at work. The rest is history!
Who is your derby wife?
Kid Vicious and Hitty Hitty Bang Bang! Yes, there’s more than one. That’s how we roll.
Drink of Choice?
Diet coke, fruit juice (I don’t drink alcohol). And I love me some grape soda when it doesn’t taste like cough syrup.
Favorite song(s) to skate to?
-Tank! – The Seatbelts
And whatever gets Hitty Hitty Bang Bang’s booty shaking ;)
Weapon of Choice?
I have a katana for when my ninjutsu training fails me.
I’ve never had to use the katana.
I can never pick just one.
Art and illustration, comics/graphic novels/manga, anime, videogames and all sorts of nerdy, creative, and nerdily creative stuff.
Words of Advice?
Being strong doesn’t mean feeling no pain or showing no fear. Rather, true strength is the ability to get up and keep going, even when you’re terrified and at your weakest.
If you could have one superhero power what would it be?
If you weren't playing roller derby what would you be doing?
Saving the world
“It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves.” – William Shakespeare
